Go with us through Prayer Support
As God’s ambassadors in an unfamiliar country, prayer is one of our most crucial needs. We know that God powerfully works through the prayers of His people and we are in absolute need of men, women and children who will fervently and frequently commit to pray for our family in the following ways:
- Constant physical and spiritual protection for each family member.
- Our ability to speak God’s message clearly and boldly to those we interact with.
- Physical health as we deal with the various ailments of a developing country.
- The ability to serve with joy despite the challenges of living cross-culturally.
- That our lives would be a testimony of God’s redeeming grace and give Him glory.
Go with us as Financial Partners
Doulos is one of the only mixed socioeconomic schools in the Dominican Republic, which means that half of all Doulos’ students attend on full scholarship and could not gain access to a high quality education otherwise. In order to provide this ministry to impoverished families, all North American staff must raise 100% financial support to teach at Doulos. One way to think of it, is that rather than sponsoring an individual child, donors are sponsoring a teacher impacting an entire classroom.
We rely on God to work through the hearts of others to provide for all of our financial needs, which includes ongoing monthly support for monthly needs and one time giving for extra expenses and unexpected challenges. Though we have been called to “go,” we genuinely believe that financial partnership is just as vital to the work God is doing in the DR as the four of us on the field. We simply cannot complete the work God has called us to without the help of others.
During our time in Jarabacoa, God has always had a plan to meet our needs. Whenever there has been a change in our monthly supporters, the Spirit has moved in others to either increase their giving or become new financial partners. We have had major unexpected financial needs for our compassion ministry that our budget did not allow for. Each time, God has proven his faithfulness by moving in the hearts of people to give. Sometimes they knew of our need, and other times, they just gave through the movement of the Holy Spirit. Through it all, God continues to show his blessing over our missionary work and provide us with the financial tools to continue to pour into the Dominicans we came here to serve and disciple.

Doulos Giving Page
Funds can be given directly through our Doulos giving page using your credit card or by setting up automatic withdrawal through your checking account. These can either be single gifts or regularly occurring donations. All funds that are selected specifically for “Michael & Melissa Buehler” will go into our Doulos account. All donations made through Doulos Ministries 501c3 are tax-deductible. These funds can only be used for our monthly living expenses, and not for our compassion ministry.
Personal Check, Cash, PayPal or Zelle Given Directly to the Buehlers
If you are interested in avoiding the Doulos admin fee, financial gifts can be given directly to us, however, these funds are unable to be credited as a tax deduction in this form. Please contact us if you would like to give in this manner. If you wish to give to our compassion ministry, then it needs to be funds that are directly given to us in one of these four methods: Personal check, cash, paypal or zelle.
Go with us through Care
Moving 3,522 miles from Oregon to a developing country has involved a dramatic shift in our daily life compared to our life in Oregon. Our care team members have assisted with small material needs/wants that have greatly brightened our journey and helped with homesickness. These shipments are always a joy to the four of us and provide a sweet reminder of the care of our community in the States.
